Oklahoma Tornado Assistance Fund
It is with a heavy heart that we feel the need to ask for assistance from our fellow equestrians once again. On May 20th, 2013, Oklahoma was hit by a series of devastating tornadoes including one that touched down in Moore, Oklahoma leaving a swath of devastation and destruction in its wake. As of today, the death toll is believed to be 24 people, including many children. A large equestrian facility, Orr Family Farm, was literally wiped out in moments, and that between 75 and 100 horses were killed. Many, many smaller horse farms and facilities were also hit and are in need of assistance with veterinary, feed and housing costs for these animals. We have started a fund to assist those in need and will distribute them to local assistance programs and veterinary facilities to make sure the aid goes to those that are in dire need of help.
